Friday Night Summer Concert ~ Brookdale Park
Friday, August 2
Essex County's free concert series continues at 7:30 pm featuring Little Anthony & The Imperials. Look for us on the left facing the stage. Bring lawn chairs / blankets / beverages / snacks. . Pay $2 for on-site parking from Watchung or Bellevue Aves. Or park for free on Grandview or Dryden off of Grove St. then walk past the tennis courts. Brookdale Park is fairly close to GSP Exit 151 and bordered by Watchung Ave., Grove St., Bellevue Ave., and Broad St. Go out for bite to eat after the concert.

Jazz Under the Stars ~ Brookdale Park

Tonight's music begins at 7:30 pm featuring jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli (Ą°I Like Jersey BestĄ±) and The First Family of Cool. Look for us on the left facing the stage. Bring lawn chairs / blankets / beverages / snacks. See August 2 concert for parking details. Dessert at a cafe afterwards.

Prayer Presence for Life
Saturday, August 10
From 8 to 10:30 am join others to pray peacefully to bless and protect the unborn. Gather at the Social Security building, 396 Bloomfield Ave., Montclair, directly across from a high-volume abortion mill. Afterwards, gather for breakfast downtown. Panevino Ristorante & Cinema Night
Saturday, August 10
Meet at 6:45 pm for delicious brick oven pizza at Panevino, 637 West Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, (973-535-6160) located on eastbound lane of Mt. Pleasant Ave. (Route #10). Later, weĄŻll see a movie at Loews Theater, 145 Route 10 East (973-515-1200). Arrive by 8:30 pm to meet at theater.

Young Adult Mass & Barbecue (registration details)
Sunday, August 11
This all-you-can-eat rain-or-shine all-day super event for young adults in their 20s and 30s takes place at SchmidtĄŻs Woods Public Park, Secaucus, from 12 noon - 7 pm. Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop John J. Myers. Fun includes games, volleyball, and the live music of Grace Notes. On-site registration: $25. Desert Moon & Dynamite Falls

Meet at 6 pm for dinner at the Desert Moon fresh Mexican grille, 749 Bloomfield Ave., West Caldwell (973-226-6622). Afterwards, weĄŻll venture to Dynamite Falls Adventure Golf, 400 Fairfield Rd. Fairfield (973-882-9777) to play miniature golf. Rain date: Saturday 8/24.

NJ Jackals Baseball Game (Jackals website)
Sunday, August 18
Get together to watch the Jackals play the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs. Meet at 1:30 pm outside the ticket booth for the 2:05 pm game. Tickets $6. Special: $0.50 hot dogs. Follow signs through the MSU campus entrance, Normal Ave. and Valley Rd., Upper Montclair, or from Rt. 46 onto Valley Rd., to the Yogi Berra Stadium, Little Falls. (973) 746-7434.

New York Yankees Baseball Game (Yankees website)

Meet outside Tegakwita Hall at 10 am to take DeCamp bus into NYC or possibly carpool. WeĄŻll buy our tickets, have lunch, visit memorial park, then watch the Yankees play the Texas Rangers the 4:05 pm game. Rain date: Sunday, August 25 ~ meet at 10 am for 1:05 pm game.
